Forgotten Masters | Enduring Images 2025
“Dominic has a great and scholarly eye as the works in this show demonstrate, and it is delightful to have played a very small part in his impressive trajectory.”  - Philip Mould
Between the 13th and 17th of October, I will be exhibiting at Philip Mould & Company in London. The catalogue continues with the theme of “Forgotten Masters” and results, fundamentally, from spending too much time looking at auction catalogues. Many of these artists will be as new to you as they were to me before I bought them. It also includes a pair of rediscovered studies by Emma Soyer, a recent obsession and whose catalogue I am currently trying to write.
I am grateful for the opportunity to exhibit these paintings at Philip Mould & Company, a gallery that has consistently raised the status of overlooked artists. The project is also something of a long-held personal ambition, coming exactly 3 years after I began trading in Plymouth. I can even recall an episode of Fake or Fortune with a Constable sketch back in 2018. I forget the details, but by the end of the episode I had decided I would quite like to be an art dealer.
